Dubravka Duba Sambolec (b.1949 in Ljubljana, lives and works in Oslo, Norway) works with sculpture, installation, video, performance, drawing and photography. She has been exhibiting extensively in a number of Norwegian and international venues such as 'Aperto 88', La Biennale di Venezia, Venice, Italy and the São Paulo Biennial, Brazil. Parallel to her artist activities she has been teaching at Art Academies such as the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art (KIT), Trondheim, Norway and The National Academy of Fine Art, Oslo. She has been a guest artist and teacher in several international institutions such as The Academy of Fine Arts, University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, and the The College of Art, Xian University of Architecture and Technology, Xian, China. Sambolec is a recipient of The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant and The Pollock-Krasner Grant, New York, NY, USA.
