The magazine regina in Norway is the seventh issue of the magazine by the German artist Regina Möller. regina in Norway is the result of Möller's participation in OCA's International Studio Programme Oslo from April through June 2005. Möller was invited specifically to make a new issue of of the magazine with Norway as its topic.
The magazine regina adopts the format of a mainstream women's fashion magazine with articles relating to fashion, living, partnership, and domestic issues. The real content of regina surfaces through unexpected subject matter which leads to the questioning of established borders of identity and representation. Through these subtle shifts, regina undermines the traditional constructions of female identity.
Regina Möller situates her work in the border realm of art, fashion, and comics. embodiment is the label of Regina Möller under which she designs works related to interior design and clothing that addresses the role of women in society. Möller's work both reflects and challenges the traditional means of artistic expression but also how art is created and presented. For her, art institutions function both as locations of production and channels for distribution. Through the format of a magazine the art by Regina Möller is distributed in thousand copies in Norway and abroad and reaches a broad audience that would not necessarily have the financial means to buy a piece of art.
