Residencies : Platform China Residency

In collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, China, OCA offers two studio residencies, for an artist or a curator at Platform China Beijing Residency Programme. The first one from 1 April until 31 May 2013 and the second from 1 September until 31 October 2013. Applicants must be Norwegian citizens, or live and work in Norway. Please notice that residency is not available for BA or MA students. The applications will be accessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA. Please read the Guidelines before filling in the application form.

Following the grant, the grant-holder is expected to write a brief report to the Office for Contemporary Art Norway about his or her stay.

Terms

OCA provides a travel grant of up to 10 000 NOK and a monthly stipend of 8 000 NOK. The fees for the studio and programme at Platform China Beijing are shared by OCA and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. The selected residents are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and organising any necessary visas or insurance.

Application Process

OCA has set up an online application system for applications for International Support and International Residencies. This system should be used to apply to the Residency Platform China, with a deadline of 01 November 2012. To apply for Residency Platform China please go to: http://www.stikk.no.

Application Form

  • Application forms are available in Norwegian or English
  • All fields marked with * are mandatory
  • 'Project Description' should always be in English and no longer than one A4 page (max. 2500 characters including spaces)
  • 'Upload material' should consist of one file (maximum 3 MB, as pdf, gif, png, jpg, mp3 or mp4). If necessary please combine multiple images within a single file before uploading or refer to webpage links for additional documentation of the work
  • 'Upload CV' should consist of one file (maximum 3 MB, as pdf) and should always be in English. If necessary please combine multiple CVs into one document before uploading or refer to webpage links for additional information

Additional visual material can also be sent to OCA by post mail. This is however limited to artist's publications, artist's books and moving images. All other material including portfolios should be uploaded within the application form. Please specify if you wish your material to be returned and if this is the case please send a pre-posted envelope with the return address. All submitted material should be identified in the outside of the envelope with both the applicant's name and the reference number provided in the online application. Applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA and notification of the Jury's decision is made by e-mail no latter than six weeks after the application deadline. Please note that the Jury's decisions are final.
