Residencies : Berlin Mitte

OCA offers four residencies for curators, critics and artists in Berlin during the Autumn 2014 and Spring 2015. From September 2014 until end of April 2015 for 2 months each. Applicants must be Norwegian citizens, or live and work in Norway. The residency period will be allocated in discussion with the selected candidates following the jury's selection. Curators and critics are especially encouraged to apply and their applications will be given priority. Please notice that the residency is not available for BA or MA students. The applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA.

Terms

The residency provides a fully furnished apartment located at Kunst-Werke, Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin. In addition, OCA also provides a travel grant worth up to NOK 4 000.

Application Process

OCA has set up an online application system for applications for International Support and International Residencies. This system should be used to apply to the Residency Berlin Mitte with a deadline of 1 May 2014. To apply to the Residency programme please go to: www.stikk.no.

Application Form

  • Application forms are available in Norwegian or English
  • All fields marked with * are mandatory
  • 'Project Description' should always be in English and no longer than one A4 page (max. 2500 characters including spaces)
  • 'Upload material' should consist of one file (maximum 3 MB, as pdf, gif, png, jpg, mp3 or mp4). If necessary please combine multiple images within a single file before uploading or refer to webpage links for additional documentation of the work
  • 'Upload CV' should consist of one file (maximum 3 MB, as pdf) and should always be in English. If necessary please combine multiple CVs into one document before uploading or refer to webpage links for additional information

Before submitting the Application Form, please ensure that all uploaded information is correct and all fields are completed

Once an application is submitted, a receipt with the indication of a reference number will be generated on the screen and sent to the e-mail contact provided within the Application Form. This reference number will allow applicants to follow their application process and therefore should be confidential.

Additional visual material can also be sent to OCA by post mail. This is however limited to artist's publications, artist's books and moving images. All submitted material should be identified in the outside of the envelope with both the applicant's name and the reference number provided in the online application. Applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA and notification of the Jury's decision is made by e-mail no latter than six weeks after the application deadline. Please note that the Jury's decisions are final.
