Applications are accepted from Norwegian artists and international artists living nd working in Norway to produce work for exhibitions internationally; Norwegian art professionals organising exhibitions and projects abroad; and international institutions and curators to work more comprehensively and thoroughly with artists, art groups and professionals from Norway. Support is only given to projects initiated or taking place at non-profit institutions, and priority is given to exhibitions taking place in key international art institutions and project spaces. Projects may include exhibitions, catalogues and other activities directly related to these areas.
grants are awarded by an international jury on a project basis to artist's projects and curatorial initiatives taking place in museums, artist-run organisations and other non-profit cultural institutions, to facilitate innovative and scholarly presentations of contemporary visual arts. OCA does not support participation of artists or projects within private and/or commercial galleries. If the non-profit status of the institution is likely to be unclear, the application should be accompanied by a document that certifies the institution's non-profit character. OCA does not provide support for participation in international art fairs. Inter-disciplinary projects can only be funded when the visual arts are a key element of the project.
Transport, insurance, travel and accommodation. Other costs may also be supported, as stipulated in the application form. OCA's support is not intended to provide for the entirety of the project – all supported projects must be co-financed.

Before submitting the application form applicants should ensure that all uploaded information is correct and all fields are completed.
Once an application is submitted, a receipt with the indication of a reference number will be generated on the screen and sent to the e-mail contact provided within the form. This reference number will allow applicants to follow their application process.
Additional visual material can also be sent to OCA by post mail. This is however limited to artists publications and artists books. All other material including portfolios should be uploaded within the application form. Please specify if you wish your material to be returned and if this is the case please send a pre-posted envelope with the return address. All submitted material should be identified in the outside of the envelope with both the applicant's name and the reference number provided in the online application.
Applications will be accessed by an International Jury.
Notification of support is made by email no later than six weeks after the application deadline. Please note that the jury's decisions are final.
The name and logo of the Office for Contemporary Art Norway should appear on any press, marketing and other related material published in print or online on the occasion of the exhibition. The logo can be downloaded here
Because of Norwegian rules for grants, stipends, etc., OCA informs that the Office of the Auditor General of Norway is entitled to verify that the grants are used according to the stated conditions. In order to facilitate this, the grantee is requested to complete the Report Form within one month of the completion of the project. To access the Form, applicants need to key in the last five numbers of their application reference at www.stikk.no.
Institutions are required to send all printed matter related to a funded project. If an exhibition catalogue is produced, the Office for Contemporary Art Norway should receive 5 copies for its archive, as well as any printed matter produced in relation to the project, and links to any material published online.
Please note that OCA may publish the names and projects of the successful applicants, as well as the images from applications and reports in various non-commercial platforms such as the OCA website, newsletter and Annual Report.
