Synnøve Persen is a poet and visual artist and was a founding member of The Sami Artists Group 1978–82, based in a former school building in Máze, Sápmi (Masi, Norway) . Through their art and activism, the group played a key role in raising the profile of Sami rights and culture. Commissioned by Office for Contemporary Art Norway, this film is part of a long-term research project ‘Thinking at the Edge of the World. Perspectives from the North’.
