Residencies : Wiels Residency Programme

Next Deadline 2019/05/01

In 2020 OCA offers a residency programme for an artist, at WIELS Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels, Belgium. The duration of the programme is six months, from 1 January until 30 June 2020. Applications are accepted from Norwegian artists and international artists residing in Norway. The programme is designed for artists who have already elaborated a specific and promising aesthetic language but seek artistic, theoretical and professional support in order to develop their practice. Please notice that the residency is not available for BA or MA students. Applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA, together with a representative from WIELS Contemporary Art Centre.

The programme includes weekly meetings with professional artists and researchers, field trips (i.e. Brussels, Cologne/Düsseldorf, London, Rotterdam/Amsterdam or Paris) and public presentations. In addition to developing their own projects, the residents are welcome to take part in the core activities of WIELS (exhibitions, research, meetings, educational programmes and socio-cultural exchanges). At the end of the residency, the recipient is welcome to present his/her work in the Project Room of WIELS or outside and an archive of the artist’s work will be included in the residency files and/or pages of the WIELS website.
