OCA offers two studio grants - one for a Norwegian artist and one for a Norwegian curator - at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York City. The artist residency has the duration of one year, from 1 September 2020 until 15 August 2021. The curatorial residency has the duration of 3 months, from 1 September until 30 November 2020. Only Norwegian citizens are eligible for these grants. Please notice that the residency is not available for BA or MA students. Applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA.
The artist in residency will at ISCP have a work studio for its sole occupancy, a minimum of 12 one-hour meetings with guest critics from the New York art community, a minimum of 22 field trips, a minimum of 2 Open-Studio Exhibitions/Receptions and an advisory meeting with a selected New York based curator. In walking distance from the work studio, the artist will have for its sole occupancy an apartment in Brooklyn. OCA provides a living grant of NOK 125.000 and a travel grant of NOK 25.000.
The curator in residency will have a small office for its sole occupancy, a minimum of 3 one-hour meetings with guest critics from the New York art community, a minimum of 5 field trips, a minimum of one Open-Studio Exhibitions/Receptions and an advisory meeting with a selected New York based curator. The curator in residency will have to find its own living place and to cover the cost of it. OCA provides a living grant of NOK 50.000 and a travel grant of NOK 20.000.

Before submitting the Application Form, please ensure that all uploaded information is correct and all fields are completed.
Once an application is submitted, a receipt with the indication of a reference number will be generated on the screen and sent to the e-mail contact provided within the Application Form. This reference number will allow applicants to follow their application process and therefore should be confidential.
Additional visual material can also be sent to OCA by post. This is however limited to artist's publications, artist's books and moving images. All other material including portfolios should be uploaded within the application form. Please specify if you wish your material to be returned and if this is the case please send a pre-posted envelope with the return address. All submitted material should be identified in the outside of the envelope with both the applicant's name and the reference number provided in the online application.

Applications will be assessed by an International Jury appointed by OCA. Please note that the Jury's decisions are final and that following the residency, artists are expected to write a brief report to the Office for Contemporary Art Norway about his or her stay.
