Curator Marie Nipper at the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum has invited Fredrik Raddum to hold a solo exhibition from 2 April to 24 July 2011. Titled 'GET LOST....', the exhibition will present over 50 large and small sculptures, installations and neon works created in the last decade, as well as a range of new works, produced especially for the exhibition at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum. An artist book documenting processes, sketches and presentations of the artworks will accompany the exhibition. According to Raddum 'GET LOST....' is 'a phrase with both a negative and a positive meaning. It is referring to expressions such as "Hey you, go get lost!" and the romantic idea to get lost in nature or knowledge'. Since this kind of ambivalence matches with the force of his work, the artist has chosen 'GET LOST....' as the exhibition title. Raddum's works often feature animals, people, and elements from the Norwegian countryside and popular culture. Crafted from shiny, smooth materials, the works can appear to be Romantically tinged Pop art at first glance, but closer inspection reveals that the motifs have a firmly embedded serious side with a sharp, socially indignant and satirical bite.
